Thérèse, who has come from the city, has married the sad Louis Raboux, a violent peasant who dies under unclear circumstances. Thérèse stays at the farm with Célestin, who loves her, but dares not say it out of shyness. The arrival of Pierre, who knew Louis and has something to hide, complicates the situation. Célestin's jealousy, which the maid Julia tries to console. Thérèse and Pierre's passionate love. The police arrest the young man and Célestin chases Thérèse, who falls from the roof. Célestin throws the body into an abyss, only to see Pierre reappear. In a rage, he too rushes into the ravine, from which Thérèse emerges, a new miracle-worker, ready to throw herself into the arms of her lover.

"Un enfant dans la ville" was originally a Michel Fugain album, a record that already told a story. Now it's a musical comedy filmed for television, giving life to its characters and taking up the story of the record, that of today's generation, not quite at ease in their sneakers and trying to untie the laces of truth.

An un-named author is driving to meet her agent late one night. Though she can’t prise a word out of him she finds his address in his bag and drives him home to an isolated farmhouse. The boy’s slight unnerving parents are surprisingly unconcerned about their son, who is swiftly locked in his room, but they invite their guest in and offer her a glass of wine. It turns out the father is also a writer, but the manuscript he proffers is merely a single phrase repeated dozens of times on each page. Something very odd is going on...

The filmmaker uses Aïcha’s stories and a wide range of family archive material to create an impression of Aïcha’s life. We start with her youth in Morocco, are shown how her husband brought her from Tangiers to Belgium, and how she later went on to raise her children as a single mother.

Two thugs conk the proprietor of a bistro on the head and drag him downstairs to the cellar where he stores his wine. While they plot the next step of whatever they are doing, two gendarmes come in to finish their meal. Running short of wine, one heads down to the cellar.
