Going Home was a drama television series produced by the SBS network in Australia that aired from 2000 to 2001. Scripted, filmed, edited and broadcast on the same day, Going Home was set in a nightly inter-urban commuter train. A group of regular train travelers are featured on their daily commute in a blend of up-to-the-minute commentary on the news and events of the day, together with the unfolding dramas in their lives. Viewer feedback was encouraged, including plot and character suggestions that were regularly incorporated into subsequent episodes. Towards the very end of the 2001 season, we see Australian character actor Stuart Rawe, before Swift and Shift Couriers, in one of his very early roles as a "Silent Football Fan". The concept has been used later in other countries: in Canada, in France and in Italy.

The story follows a group of high school girls who are in the 'Going-Home Club'. Instead of doing regular club activities, the 'Going-Home Club' is dedicated to having as much fun as possible, by doing such things as playing video games or even simply feeding pigeons in the park.

Mita Sakura is considered to be weird by her colleagues at the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, because she voluntarily works in the unidentified bodies department. About 20,000 unidentified bodies exist in the country and Mita Sakura works on returning these unknown deceased people to their families. She has a colleague, Tsukimoto Makoto, who works in the same department. They are totally opposite in terms of their personalities and interests. Mita Sakura is bright and warm-hearted, but Tsukimoto Makoto is calm and cold-hearted. They do share the same desire to return these unidentified bodies to their families. To find the identities of these deceased people, they rely on the few clues that are left behind on them.

Johan Ten Berghe joins the Dutch army when the Dutch East Indies unilaterally declare independence as Indonesia. He initiates his naive driver Twan in life in the East, having grown up there as son of colonial official Hendrik, now missing. Later Lin Pin Ru and Hong Shi Xian are trapped on a boat in the middle of a beach, They both fall in and Hong Shi Xian made it out alive whereas Lin Pin Ru is drowning and has lost her child. On the same day Lin Pin Ru drowns in the water, Gao Shan Shan is committing suicide, and she goes drowns herself in the same beach Lin Pin Ru dies. Goa Shan Shan's brother, Gao Wen Yan goes to save her sister, but instead, he saved Lin Pin Ru. Lin Pin Ru later takes the name Goa Shan Shan and learns to do the stuff that Gao Shan Shan does, but however this time she is out for revenge on Hong Shi Xian and Ai Li.
