A Couple engaged is mad at the system for not making money as they should and decides to steal money by any means.
Created for Time Unfolding, a programme of single screen films produced by Picture This and curated by Lucy Reynolds. With The Chase, Oechsler succeeds in creating a feeling of threateningly intense psychological strain with simple means. It can also be understood as a race between two people who are a couple; whose rivalry is that much more aggressive because of the intimacy of their relationship. The video consciously refuses to offer a deeper psychological analysis of the scene inasmuch as it does not offer any background information on the runners’ personalities. In The Chase Oechsler isolates a feeling of psychological pressure and portrays it in its purest form. (Excerpt from the exhibition catalogue videonale 9, text by Jan Verwoert)
1979 comedy special starring Chevy Chase in the vein of Saturday Night Live.
A pickpocket is caught in the act, and leads the police on a lengthy chase.
A student who has come out as transgender, talks about experiences and hardships he’s had through his journey.
Alice is in her 20s, a graduate with a shitty job. She's saving to head overseas, but family problems are holding her back. While she's waiting to leave, Alice acts as our guide as we travel into the lives of her flatmates, her boyfriend's band, her family, and a few complete strangers who have nothing to do with anything (probably). Julian sells his soul to the devil's cousin. Zoe is attempting to overthrow corporate capitalism through counter-propaganda, while Greg is building a bomb. Josie's just been sacked. Petulia, a 14-year old goth, has befriended Julian's disembodied shadow... kind of. Meanwhile the sky is cracking apart, whales walk the earth, and a colossal tidal wave threatens to destroy the planet. People are dating and drinking coffee. Some are looking for better jobs, others are skating and smoking pot. And a bumble bee's life hangs in the balance.
An ill-fated attempt to capture a wishing star as a gift for their parents leads Rolie and Zowie into a musical outer space venture that brings a pair of lost twins into their lives in the multicolored robotic family's second feature-length outing. The baby bots have inadvertently left their dwelling, a fantasy foster home more akin to amusement park than institution. When Rolie and Zowie bring the misplaced babies back to their home planet, Mom and Dad are willing to give up the Family Fun Day Parade in order to track down the "mothership." The intergalactic road trip results in the discovery that the infants need a good adoptive home. The parents offer verbal agreement (no red tape or exorbitant fees here!) and it's back home in time for the parade in this sweetly unjaded 68-minute movie from the folks at Disney Playhouse.
