A project that plays at being a bestiary, but also a diary, but also a tragic tale. Film made by manipulating Super8mm footage, Cinexin tapes and drawings without fate nor destiny.
Rhett and Link rent a seemingly ghost-free house for the night, but something goes awry just as they start to get comfortable.
An animated short film about a different era where the phone connected people to houses and caller id didn't exist.
A short documentary on a zero dollar budget? About a song that isn’t released? About people who aren’t objectively musicians? yes. that is what this is.
An accounting of dreams I’ve had while filtered as a D*sney cartoon.
A Night We Held Between takes the ancient tale of the Minoan Labyrinth as historical inspiration, connecting mythology to the present socio-political reality in Palestine. Set in particular ancient sites across Palestine—caves, carved holes, underground passages, and wild valleys—the land, and landscape become the film’s main protagonists. Timeless, haunting scenes evoke that which is lost, forgotten or forsaken, while repetition and ritual recall ancient gestures related to goddesses, caves and offerings – gestures that resonate through to the present and open up spaces for the communal expression of connection to land and culture across time and space.

when the East of the day meets the West of the night is a video series about the physical and emotional distances between my homeland China and the United States. Part one (Sun) was filmed in two continuous takes from opposite coasts on the Pacific Ocean, one near Beijing and one in California. The cameras slowly move laterally as the sun descends and ascends in two skies to create an arc-shaped trajectory. The dual scenes represent longing for what lies beyond.
Feeling increasingly trapped, frustrated and alone, middle-aged Los Angeles resident Dee Barnes decides to turn her life (and hopefully the lives of others) around by starting a weekly discussion open to anyone who cares to join. She soon finds her house filled with an assortment of characters, including a bulimic goth, a sexist jerk, and a meek young man who only wants to protect the environment. As they open up to each other with their ideas and feelings, they gradually start to learn more about themselves.
One night, a mother of five gets drunk. She then spends the rest of the evening expressing her frustrations, inhibitions, and aspirations while her poet son tells all the miseries and shared trauma that bonded them together.
In one night, we are let into the bedrooms of 8-12 of Amsterdam’s inhabitants. In these bedrooms, the inhabitants are sharing an intimate experience with another: a new partner, an old partner, a friend. A gravitational pull takes us through the night as through their separateness, the various inhabitants become more and more linked – a phone screen in one room brings us to a TV screen in another –a window overlooking canal-side houses brings us to the interior of another – the holding of a face in one bed follows through to someone tracing another’s nose in another bed – the receding hairline of one person takes us to the baldness of another.
