Fist of Fury is a 1995 Hong Kong television series adapted from the 1972 film of the same title. Produced by ATV and STAR TV, the series starred Donnie Yen as Chen Zhen, a role previously played by Bruce Lee in Fist of Fury and Jet Li in Fist of Legend. The series is also related to the 2010 film Legend of the Fist: The Return of Chen Zhen, in which Yen reprises his role. This series was edited into a 225 minute movie titled Sworn Revenge for the US market in 2002.

Chen Chen returns to his former school in Shanghai when he learns that his beloved instructor has been murdered. While investigating the man's death, Chen discovers that a rival Japanese school is operating a drug smuggling ring. To avenge his master’s death, Chen takes on both Chinese and Japanese assassins… and even a towering Russian.

This Chinese is the only one who has the guts to fight the Japanese, this Chinese is known as Chen Shen (Bruce Li) who is the brother of Chen Zhen and he vows to avenge his brother's death and end the terror of the Japanese once and for all.

After avenging the death of his brother, Chen Shen (Bruce Li) returns home from Shanghai. He tells his mother (who went blind from crying over her son's death) that he will no longer fight. Dae-dong is the newly appointed leader of the Jung-mu Martial Arts Hall. He is challenged by the Japanese and is killed. The Jung-mu Hall is almost at the point of ruin. The teachers of Jung-mu Hall go searching for the master Keum-san of Chosun, the great Taekwondo fighter. Keum-san was the Korean teacher of the deceased Dae-dong and a highly respected warrior. When Keum-san's disciple, Chung, hears the sad tidings of Dae-dong's death, his only friend, he goes to China with the Jung-mu masters to hold his funeral. During Dae-dong's funeral, Chung receives a challenge from the treacherous Japanese man, Kuromasa. Chung kills Kuromasa and returns to Chosun but he discovers his wife and master Keum-san murdered. Stunned, Chung destroys them all and leaves for somewhere desolately carrying his young child.

Following the 1911 Xinhai Revolution that overthrew the Qing dynasty, China entered a period of turmoil, with drastic political changes and the start of the Warlord Era. Apart from having to shoulder the heavy responsibilities of rebuilding Jingwu and raising Huo Yuan Jia's orphaned son, Huo Dong Jue, Chen runs into trouble with the gangs and has to hide from the police.
