La Route Du Bagne

Christalle is seventeen and lives in the middle of the countryside with her grandfather André. She often visits her father Franck, who lives in a floating cabin on the Loire River. When she has to transport drugs to Orléans, Christalle is threatened by local traffickers. Franck and André must join forces to help her extricate herself from the situation.

Paris, 1865. In a music-hall Manon accidentally kills her partner who was trying take sexual advantage of her. She is condemned to twenty years of hard labor first and then to be deported to marry a released convict. On the ship where she sails with her female fellow-sufferers she gets to know a young doctor and helps to suppress a revolt. Once arrived at her destination, Manon hesitates between her official fiancé and the doctor whose household she does not want to break...

Raoul, a sensitive boy, will meet Alma, an evanescent girl, at the edge of a country road, in the middle of summer. They are totally different: he is warm and joking while she is more distant and reserved, but they both hide a poetry that they are the only ones to perceive.

Centers on a band of hookers who listen to their pimp and seek out old men in retirement villages. They convince the old fellows to marry them so they will not be forced to leave the city. Unfortunately for the pimp, the delighted geezers will not allow their brides to work.

The Road to Paradise follows Leila, a mother of two living illegally in France, trying to raise her kids while failing to connect with her husband who has crossed the border to England.

Eels is an American alternative rock band, formed in California in 1995 by singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Mark Oliver Everett, better known as "E". Band members have changed across the years, both in the studio and on stage, making Everett the only official member for the most of the band's work. Often filled with family, death and lost love themes, Eels' music straddles a wide range of genres, which is evidenced with the peculiar musical style of every album.
