At the end of 2012, France announced the withdrawal of its troops from Afghanistan after a decade of war. All the soldiers are happy with this news, except one unit, the Black Cats. Led by Chief Sergeant Dostali, the group will do everything to delay their repatriation for several weeks. The motivation for this choice is still obscure and is thwarted by the arrival of a French journalist, who came to cover the return of the troops. The story takes another turn when one of the black Cats suddenly disappears.

With the support of short interviews with employees from the Lyon and Paris regions (Conflans Sainte-Honorine), as well as that of Pierre Sarger, architect and urban planner from Ivry, who discusses its transformation into a dormitory town, this program addresses the thorny issue of public transport for workers far from their workplace. Travel time, comfort in transport, its cost, its frequency, walking, all elements that harm the quality of life of employees and considerably limit their free time: this is because working conditions are almost as important as the work itself. The film includes beautiful shots of urban traffic (buses, suburban trains, cars), or pedestrians, and crowds walking, either in the street, in the metro, or leaving factories. (source: Media-Scérén)

Jamil and Milad are brothers with very different personalities. Jamil is a get-up-and-go carpenter, following in his father's footsteps. Milad is a sensitive trumpeter and dreamer. As their home country, Syria, sinks further into war, Jamil emigrates first to Beirut and then makes an illegal journey to Sweden. Milad stays in Damascus, but eventually can’t take it any longer and decides to leave to Berlin. Their cousin Wissam records their journey for over five years, bringing back childhood memories while questioning the true meaning of home. The traumatic war in Syria plays a background role in this documentary, which focuses more on the psychological effects of being uprooted and the way the brothers, who had previously hardly travelled, deal with emigration. It draws with humility and admiration the human ability to cope with change, as radical as it can be. Jamil and Milad are achievers, each adapting his own way.
