Inspired by Isaac Asimov's short story "Nightfall", this film portrays the anxiety and hysteria of a civilization that has never known night, in the face of the impending death of the suns that compose its solar system. The images of LE SOLEIL TOUT ENTIER NE SE TROUVE NULLE PART are taken from scenes of existing narrative films where the sun is predominant, and from which all human forms have been erased in post-production. This film is organized around colorimetric variations and a decreasing luminosity, as in Asimov's story. The soundtrack comes from sound recordings of the energy produced by solar winds captured by NASA's Parker Probe.

The Festival du Nouveau Cinéma of Montreal, in its 37th year, invited me to make three little video sequences in different locations in the city : a subway station, the Grande Bibliothèque and the FNC Lab. "The cinema" was the obligatory subject. I could not use any sound, because they did not want my work to disturb people. They also told me we live in a world with far too many images already. So for sure, I added more. Made in collaboration with Vidéographe, Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec and the Société de transport de Montréal.

The moving and overwhelming testimonies of those who knew him, the unpublished film archives, the generous voice of the poet on the radio, the discovery of his travels in the territories of poetry and politics make this film a precious document on the life of Jean Senac.
