In 1989 the ecuadorian writer Gustavo Garzón Guzmán was arrested and acussed of being part of a political movement the Movimiento Montoneras Patria Libre (MPL). A year pass to get his freedom but in the time returning to his job and literary studies on de 10th november of 1990 he was vanished during the Rodrigo Borja Cevallos presidential time.
The small South American republic of Guadalarma is under the rule of despot Don Salvador, surrounded by a civil guard, his mistress (La Morenita), his henchman (Don Ramón) and the fortress governor (the venal Don Gaspar). One morning, the city's French jeweler Michel Dumartin receives a visit from a client named José Llanos, one of the regime's fiercest opponents. Llanos is soon denounced and shot dead by Salvador's men. At the same time, Dumartin was accused of complicity with the rebels. Arrested and imprisoned in the fortress, he is ripe for the death penalty.
Peter Nestler, an important German filmmaker with an extensive filmography, agrees with Chilean filmmaker Rodrigo Gonçalves, exiled in Sweden, to make a documentary on PIDEE (Protection of Children Harmed by the State of Emergency) and on FASIC, a Catholic organisation for the defence of human rights. It is one of the first clandestine films to be made during the period of the dictatorship, and provides an insight into the state of repression in which the population was living. The filmmakers entered the country in 1982 and clandestinely shot several films in the country. Among the testimonies is an interview with the widow of Hugo Araya, "El Salvaje", filmmaker and photographer assassinated on 11 September 1973. The film's credits list "Sergio Bustamante" as co-director, a fictitious name invented by Gonçalves because he was still in exile. "How oppression strikes " won the FIPRECI prize at the Oberhausen Festival, Germany, in 1983.
Oh Hye-Sung (Yoon Tae-Young), who excelled at skipping rocks as a child, loved Choi Eom-Ji (Kim Min-Jung). As childhood friends Choi Eom-Ji made Hye-Sung's life warm. Ten years later Oh Hye-Sung has become a baseball player and meets Eom-ji again. She is in a relationship with another childhood friend Ms Dong-Tak (Park Sung-Min).
One day, Hye-Sung hides his injury as a pitcher and throws a perfect game. After that performance he disappears. Several years later, Hye-Sung shows up with other baseball players who have sad stories and are thought of as cast-offs. They are known as "Kyong-pyoii Woeinjudan".
