The Way

"Shakti Timeless" tells the story of the Indo-Western music group Shakti. Formed in 1975, the group pioneered a groundbreaking and highly influential musical East-meets-West approach. In the 1970s, the group, whose name means creative intelligence, beauty and power, consisted of legendary British jazz guitarist John McLauglin, North Indian tabla master Zakir Hussain, violinist L. Shankar and percussionist T.H. Vinayakram, the latter two hailing from South India. Together, they created a fluid and organic sound that managed to successfully combine seemingly incompatible traditions. After a number of very successful live concerts and albums they disbanded. The group was reformed in 1997 under the name Remember Shakti with new talents from India, such as V. Selvaganesh, who replaced his father Vinayakram on percussion, and the young prodigy U. Shrinivas, who replaced L. Shankar. In 2000, the young Indian classical singer Shankar Mahadevan joined as the first vocal element in the group.

Jól á leið til jarðar is an Icelandic television series that first aired on Icelandic public television channel Sjónvarpið in December 1994. The series is a part of Jóladagatal Sjónvarpsins, an ongoing series of televised advent calendars. It was created by Sigurður Örn Brynjólfsson and Friðrik Erlingsson, and was the first stop-motion advent calendar on Icelandic television. The show was produced at Nukufilm studios in Tallinn, Estonia. The show was voiced by actors and comedians Sigurður Sigurjónsson, Laddi and Örn Árnason. Jól á leið til jarðar was rerun on Sjónvarpið in December 1999 and 2007. A physical advent calendar containing leads to each episode's plot was published in conjunction with the initial airing of the series.

A tale of shady dealings and double crossings

This is the story of Emoş Gülver, one of hundreds of women who decided to search for their roots after seeing the 2010 documentary “İki Tutam Saç: Dersim’in Kayıp Kızları” (Two Locks of Hair: The Lost Girls of Dersim), which recounted the stories of little girls who were separated from their parents in the late 1930s during a state intervention against the Dersim revolt in Tunceli. Emoş was 5 years old when her family was killed in Dersim, taken by a military officer who took part in the operation and raised by his family. 75 years later, she begins a journey with her daughter back to her roots.

Kirsten Kosinski (Anna Kristina) leaves her provincial town to work in the big city. After getting a job as a secretary, she finds herself occasionally "sellin her charms." Eventually, she becomes a full-time prostitute and feels the need to ensure the protection of a pimp to survive in this environment.

N-York: On the Way to Anthology is a reflection, both literal and figurative, of a brief but deeply impactful time spent in New York City and the hours filmmaker Daniel Leão spent absorbing the work of Jonas Mekas, Marie Menken, Joseph Cornell, and Stan Brakhage at Anthology Film Archives. Shot in an off-the-cuff manner, moved by the city night and the image of himself and his partner, Djuly Gava, in the auto glass, this film contains a pilgrimage of wonderment in a deceptively simple moment. The tournament had no weight classes or weight limits. Matches had no time limit or rounds, therefore no judges were used. Competitors could only win a match by submission, by the opponent's corner throwing in the towel, or by knockout.
