Space age fairytale from the faraway future... Planet Magracia is a center for commerce with busy space traffic. A girl named Lilly is intrigued by an enigmatic new girl in her school. She's the same age as Lilly but mature compared to other students in her class. Regarded aloof, she hasn't made any friend yet, it seems. Her name is Hikari. Lilly can only watch her from distance, hoping for an opportunity to talk to her. Then one day, a strange cat-like creature shows up in class, changing their ordinary life.

The film’s main thread is the story of a Korean man, who in the times of the Japanese occupation of the Korean peninsula, is sent to Japan to fight along with the Japanese in the Philippines, but after the war and fearing discrimination, creates a Japanese identity for himself and manages to get married and have children without his family ever knowing about his origins for 50 years until he is arrested in 1985 for forging official documents and in suspicion of being a spy from North Korea. A mother's innocent gift of an atlas globe to her son, Vahid, reveals itself to be a supernatural force. From inside the globe a singing figure emerges by the name of Patal, and has the ability to grant all the boy's wishes. He soon learns of the great power emanating from the globe and begins using it in everyday life, from saving a motorcyclist from crashing into their family car to solving his household chores. The magic never ceases to amaze and enrich the young boy's life in this charmingly quirky film. But could the power of the globe be far too much for only a young boy to handle?
