Susan, a xenophobic woman, has married into a Polish family through her college sweetheart Michal. When Michal's family visits unannounced to celebrate Wigilia, the newlyweds are pushed to confront their expectations of each another. Set in the early 80s in Canada.

A narrator sings the opening stanzas of the classic poem while we see the house at rest. Santa lands on the roof, comes down the chimney, and opens his bag. The toys march out and decorate the tree, with the toy soldiers shooting balls from their cannon, a toy airplane stringing a garland like skywriting, and the toy firemen applying snow. A blimp delivers the star to the top. Meanwhile, Santa fills the stockings. His laughter awakens the children, who sneak out. The toys rush to their places, and Santa escapes up the chimney just in time.

Patty and Eric Purtle visit their Grandfather for Christmas. After accidentally breaking a clock in his workshop, they then find themselves repeating Christmas Eve. together they must fix time and make Christmas enjoyable for their family.

This holiday tale offers a spin on the classic Clement C. Moore creation The Night Before Christmas. Gregory is a mouse who accidentally learns of a plan by an evil elf to keep Santa from delivering presents to all the good boys and girls. He sets off to stop the bad elf and gets help from a variety of beings including a fairy, an owl, and an older mouse. Kevin Kline provides vocal work on this production.
