A newsletter meets home movie, made by an experimental filmmaker who was constructing a papier mâché skeleton but whose leg (the filmmaker’s) suddenly went wrong. It got fixed, but (spoiler alert) that’s just kind of incidental. Possibly a diary but probably not a documentary: this is a play with form, animated with glee, edited with joy.

Just seven years after wrapping up one of rock's first farewell tours, The Who returned to the stage in 1989 with another first: the classic album show. It was the 20th anniversary of Tommy, which seemed like a good excuse to book a bunch of stadiums and play the album along with a healthy dose of Who classics, aided by a mere 12 other musicians. This is The Who live at the Universal Amphitheater in Los Angeles, 24 August 1989.
Groundbreaking documentary, "With a Kite," takes an inside look at the growing sport of kiteboarding through the lives and lifestyles of a group of core pro riders against the backdrop of one of the sport's most respected competitions, the Triple-S Invitational live event.
The film guides the viewer through the process of making contact with a figure who exists only in his own photographs—70’s gay sex icon Peter Berlin. The film is structured in three parts, which were made chronologically. In the first part, the filmmaker appropriates Peter Berlin’s outfits and poses, playfully attempting to embody Peter Berlin’s artistic persona. Each frame of the original 16mm film was then hand-painted to distort the image, producing an animated effect that prevents the viewer from seeing the full performing body. In the second part, a voice over relates a story riddled with anxiety about a potential meeting with Peter Berlin that is paired with images of mansions and window displays. The third and final section is an interview with Peter Berlin in his apartment, describing a moment of exchange that crosses lines of gender and generation, a moment where the identities of two filmmakers briefly coalesce.

An amateur ghost hunter and his easily possessed apprentice unload chaos on a small rural village as they open a portal to the plane of the dead by reading out of the Book of the Dead. The poor local priest tries to maintain order and normalcy, but the supernatural keeps messing with him. Tea with the Reaper is a mockumentary paired with found footage and a touch reminiscent of The Office. A film that bridges genres and puts a charming comedic spin on a pretty dark story.
