Host, IMO, did everything better than Unfriended, and did it cheaper and quicker. It’s the movie Unfriended could have been. Dark Web was a good time, though. Managed to use the whole webcam conceit and pour on the modern references and culture like the first one, but without the cheeseball notion of a vengeful Facebook ghost to bog it down. 100% agree, this film was a pleasant surprise! I didn’t care for the first Unfriended, but I went to check this one out since I find the Dark Web concept much more disturbing and was not disappointed! The writing, acting, effects, etc. were all much better than the original, and the characters are actually somewhat likeable in Dark Web!
