Presented in its original aspect ratio of 1.85:1, the new 1080p/24hz high-definition encode has been sourced from a recent 4K restoration conducted by Sony. Davis’ In a Silent Way and Bitches Brew pushed Jazz-Fusion to the forefront for younger « more hip » listeners in the late 60’s and early 70’s. Herbie released the Headhunters album in 1973 and it was like nothing else at the time. Melvin Van Peebles’ Watermelon Man makes its worldwide Blu-ray debut courtesy of Indcator, presented on a single-layer disc in its original aspect ratio of 1.85:1 and encoded at 1080p/24hz. Indicator is using an older master supplied to them by Sony, and I assume it’s the same one used for their original DVD edition.
