Chinese Whispers

Young children play their favorite classroom game: their chairs in a circle, Miriam whispers something in the ear of the child to her right, who whispers what she hears to the child on her right, and so on around the circle to the originator.

This film is composed of three intertwined stories in the city: a writer who quit his job wanting to concentrate on writing books makes a new discovery about his future life; a couple who are committed to studying for success are worried about their son's future; The middle-aged man who relied solely on good luck to have a smooth life felt a certain crisis.

Kenny's work as a nurse in a psychiatric hospital isn't just a job, it's a vocation. His special group of patients are his friends - his only friends. When a strange young man is introduced to the group, he threatens the love, discipline and respect that have been the very basis of Kenny's authority, and all that surrounds the institution is scant protection from the madness of the world beyond.

Vincent, a young Chinese-Kiwi, is rescued from a group of racist punks in a spacies parlour by a mysterious Asian, then drawn into a seedy Triad underworld.

A man and a woman meet in an urban space as strangers and remain so until the end whilst they steadily grow alienated from their surroundings. As they close in on their own crises, they begin to feel comfortable with their respective existences.
