An island retreat. A man, his face bandaged, plays cards nonchalantly. His ex-wife arrives. Conversations happen.

A film consisting of four parts, which attempts to reduce the illusionist space that cinema inherits from the perspective devices of classical painting to the two sole dimensions of the screen, through means specific to the filmic medium. The motif of the window serves as serialized material, since it is by imagining itself like a window (Alberti, Dürer) that the Quattrocento painting was able to construct its perspective and illusionist space. In 1995, the Saint Paul de Mausole nursing home in Saint Rémy de Provence opened an art therapy workshop as part of the Valetudo association. A Dutch painter and the nursing staff of Saint Paul accompany women who discover and reveal themselves in the shadow of a certain Vincent van Gogh.
